What happens if I get toner on my skin or my clothes?
At Fuji Xerox Business Centre Cairns, we are quite commonly asked:
‘Is toner bad for you?’
‘What happens if I get it on my skin or my clothes?’
If you do get toner on your skin, just use soap and water to clean the toner off. If it is on your clothes just perform a cold wash with detergent and the toner will come out. DO NOT use hot or warm water as this will cause the toner to soften and fuse to the fabric. Our technicians get toner on their clothes daily and never get any stains.
Genuine Fuji Xerox toners do not contain any hazardous substances, however, if toner dust is directly breathed in, in large doses, it could irritate the respiratory tract.
Fuji Xerox Business Centre Cairns recommends the following safe work practices when dealing with toners and inks:
- Clean up any residual toner dust that can accumulate around a machine.
- Have the machine regularly serviced.
- Dispose of all toner in the correct method.
- Clean up any toner spills immediately.
